The crafty countdown stands at 15 days - lets use one of those backgrounds

House arrest will be over :)

Okay, yesterday I promised I'd use at least one of those backgrounds I created.  I did have a question about matting and layering, so I've made sure I took photographs to show you how I manage to do it, and get it close :)


This is the background I decided to use - and a lovely Woodware stamp


I stamped and embossed in white


and then decided to paint the flowers in white acrylic paint. I then started to mat and layer. I don't measure anything, its all guess work. I line up the top and right hand side, and then make a mark at the bottom and the left as to where you need to cut the card to make it even.  I then cut this down.


I then mat and layered this up with blue card


I finished with a little bit of stickles glitter glue, and some white pearlescent PVA

    Seriously, the count down is giving me goose bumps now! Beautiful card, can I ask you a question? I'm new to paper crafting, should I stick to one thing at first IE die cutting or decoupage or should I do everything, like stamping, watercolours etc? I suppose what Arron trying to say is do you have to be a stamper or die cutter or can it be all of the above? Does that make any sense at all?

    Can't wait to see you on TV again. You have been seriously missed! I love playing with shaving foam......in a tray that is!!Hee!Hee!! You just never know what patterns you can get. My 10 year old granddaughter loves it too. The stamp image is stunning and a beautiful card. Hugs, Carol S.xx

    Love this card, I think I have that stamp somewhere!! Never used it so think it's time to have a little looksy.....have just got back into stamping again as am loving all the new watercolour techniques that are around now.

    Two weeks will go by so quickly and I'm really looking forward to seeing you on Hochanda very soon - will probably have to record shows you are on as we have friends from Halifax visting for a few days from 17th but, will watch once they've gone home........how very unfriendly of me xx

    I keep threatening to have a go at this technique as it looks like a fun and easy way to achieve a marbling effect. Must get myself into gear! Love this card, can't believe you're already down to 15 days.

    Hello Leonie, love this card, I love using white embossing powder, but never thought of using white acrylic paint.

    Love this card, really, really love it. You are a brilliant teacher and had I known the shaving foam technique before I wouldn't have brought the marbling kit doh! Will be great to see you back on TV not long now, enjoy your last couple of weeks off because i should think you are going to be really busy once you ar released from house arrest lol
