Not good karma for crafting!

Meant to be crafting today, but my mojo's not working. Got home last night and the RSPCA called round. Apparently someone had reported that my dogs had been abandoned. I was so upset. I new there was something wrong when I got home, they had left stinky presents around the house which they never do, Teela was shivering and molting which she does when she's scared, and she didn't bark once (which she never does!). I felt awful. Obviously they were supposed to have a dog sitter, who was meant to be staying with them and walking them everyday. The leads were where I left them, no hovering had been done, but there was no mud on the carpet (pretty impossible when the weathers wet!).

I don't really know whats happened. She did say she had to see her mum on the Wednesday as she had to go to hospital, and I said I completely understood and for her to let me know what was going on as we could arrange something. The day after she said her mum was back home, so didn't say she couldn't see to the dogs. And when I got home there was a note to say the dogs had been really good, and she was sorry for rushing off to see her mum who still wasn't very well. After the visit from the RSPCA officer I was of course really emotional so text her (couldn't ring!!), and she said her mum had died, which must have been on the Saturday as she left the note saying she still wasn't to good Saturday morning (I presume, but who knows). I just don't get it - obviously you don't like to say you don't believe it -who would lie about something like that, that would be disgusting. I suppose it's more like she had a lot on her plate, made sure the dogs were fed and had water, and figured they didn't need a walk. Why didn't she tell me though so I could have made other arrangements, why would you do that - unless she didn't want to loose the money. I dunno, but I'm so relieved I came home. I was supposed to be visiting my friend, but had forgot until I had got down the motorway. Imagine if I hadn't got home until the evening!!! Jesus. My door would have been put through wouldn't it, and my dogs taken. It doesn't bare thinking about. My faith in some people has been abit shaken, but at least I know my neighbours are observant and have effectively let me know my dogs weren't being taken care of properly, otherwise I'd have never known and used her again.

Anyway, this has killed my mojo. Everythings sitting out waiting to be done and I just want to eat chocolate! The dogs funnily enough have had a good long walk and are not happy again. At least they'll be in safe hands with my mum next week.

Okay, put down the chocolate Leonie, pick up the stamp and DO IT!!!!!.....

That's awful Leonie. You'd be the last person to abandon your dogs. Hope you are all ok x

Please don't beat yourself up over this .... no real harm done and your dogs are probably more okay than you are! Do I take it that you will not be 'distilling' the aroma that met you as you stepped inside and letting us all have a few bottles on 'flexi-pay? X Eileen

Oh Leonie - thank goodness you got home and sorted it all out. I dont think there is ANY excuse for not looking after the dogs. I am sure someone could have helped out - at the very least she could have sent you a text and explain that she was only going to be feeding and watering - at least you could have sorted something out! Its awful that her mum died and I am sure she was in a state but I still dont get why she wouldnt try and let you know.

Well done you for stepping away from the chocolate!

Hope you get some crafting done - perhaps set an early alarm for tomorrow and get the ball rolling?

All the best

Oh Leonie, there's no excuse, she could have let you know by text that she couldnt do what you had asked her to do... I have 2 cats and when we go away I have someone here looking after them... the last time it was someone I knew but she let me down really badly so now they either stay with Grandma or they're booked into their holiday home (cattery). Hope your dogs have settled down now you're home... Last Friday we were going out and would be gone for the evening so we arranged for a friend and neighbour to pop in and feed our 2 cats, when we got in about 1030pm they hadnt been fed, we don't know why as the person is avoiding our calls, but I will get to the bottom of it!!! There are several families who have cats living around us and we often get asked if we can feed them if their owners are going away, seems like help is a bit one way though!!!

Oh Leonie, that is just too awful. They would have been so upset to make a mess. Still, your cuddles now will bring them round again. I take it you can't have them in P'boro with you. such a shame. It will work out for you I'm sure. Take care chuck and don't beat your self up.
Luv and hugs Joanne xxxxxxxxxxx

Oh Leonie, I can't even begin to imagine how you must have been feeling. You must not feel guilty for what someone else has done, you had no idea what your sitter was or was not up to. And I am sure the RSPCA would understand that. At least you have found out that you need a new dog sitter before something really bad happened.

Regardless of the situation there is no excuse for not letting your clients know the situation and helping to sort out alternatives even more so after saying she would let you know. Makes you wonder if the dogs were walked on a regular basis beforehand!! I think your neighbours have done you a big favour.

I hope everything is all back to normal now and your mojo has returned. Have a good week :O) xx

What a nightmare! So sorry to hear that. The least she could have done was to be honest and tell you the truth. Hope you're feeling better today, the dogs have settled and your mojo has returned!

Oh Leonie, what a horrible thing to have happen. You must have been so upset. I think your sitter was very wrong to not tell you she had not walked the dogs, hope you reported her.
Hope your poor dogs are ok now, they must have been so upset as well. Big hugs to you all. Anesha :)

So sad to hear of your troubles. I like you love my dogs and you do everything to make sure, that whilst you are away, they will be looked after. After all they are part of the family!!! Think that by the time you read this reply you will have either moved or are getting ready to move nearer to Peterborough. That should keep you and yr pets happy!!! All together like one BIG HAPPY family!!
