I've been lucky here at mums. I have been able to visit my old mates, and have a good catch up - and then today get on with my blog post. I have had, Teela choose the stamp (she's very crafty you know):
We decided to use some Hobby Art stamps which I got for my mum some time ago. I love these stamps - well to be honest I love all Hobby Art stamps, always been a massive fan. I also choose some papers. These are so pretty, very old papers now, from Kay and Co. It doesn't matter how old they are though, they don't go out of fashion, and look just as good today as they did years ago - that's why we stash everything though isn't it!!
I stamped directly onto the patterned paper
and then inked the poppies up and stamped onto plain card
I coloured the poppies in with a watercolour pen. I watered down some of the ink for the inside of the poppy, and then coloured the outside directly so I had a darker shade
I then cut out the poppy heads, and also cut around the frame of the main image. I made sure I cut out the images that protrude out of the frame
I matt and layered the stamped image onto a piece of white card
I then found a aperture card and backed the inside of the card with the other pretty paper
I used the paper I had stamped on for the top and bottom of the aperture card, and then stuck the stamped image into the aperture with 3D foam
Using 3D foam, I popped the poppy heads in place. This looks so beautiful, and really striking
I then just added some little diamonds, and then a large satin ribbon, which I knotted rather than tied in a bow. I do prefer knots rather than bows for some reason
I generally add sentiments to my card, but I was really happy to just leave this one as is - I think it looks really effective. I hope you agree.
