So, a couple of weeks ago this was me "manuka honey is amazing. Everyone's had a cold and I'm fine. I never catch colds, look at me, miss vitamin c...yadda yadda", so I suppose I deserve it. The nose of rudolf, and a throat that feels like I've eaten a course of cheese graters. I thought, cool, good for the diet. Nope, all I've been able to drink and eat are milkshakes, eggs or pasta.
No more manuka honey, but would I have got a cold sooner! Would it have been worse!! Dont you just hate it when you buy into the hype and can't get out of it.
Anyhow, the snuffles are retreating but my throat is awful. Joanne said the only answer is to gargle with tcp. Tomorrow that may be my last resort.....urgh.
It's a sickner as not only have I not been able to go to work, but I'm missing going to Jo Channons shop tomorrow. I was really looking forward to demonstrating. I'll get there, eventually. Anyone going have a brilliant time, if you don't know about it yet then go down, the wonderful Sheena Douglas is there tomorrow (sob, would have been such a good day). Here's Jo's address:

Hopefully it'll be business as usual next week and I'll be chatting everyone's ears off.
Keep away from germy folk xxx

Hope you are feeling better soon, Leonie. When I had tonsilitis at the start of the year I gargled with Diflam. It looks like liquid kryptonite but works a treat. Take care. x
Oh Leonie, Huge hugs for you as I have had it all week and oh boy have I felt pantsaroonie!
rest up chick and drink plenty.....no Leonie not wine.....:) :)
hugs Lou xxxxxx
Humph...so much for you 'not accepting' a cold ....don't you just hate colds...makes you feel like you should be living in a swamp or something....get well soon...and yes gargling is great if you have no TCP just gargle with salt water...salt is the best healing agent...
Ann xx
there was a report recently that said swallowing a spoonful of honey so that it coats your throat was one of the most effective remedies for sore throat. Try it, at least it will taste better than TCP!
There there pet. The previous person was right salt water is best because it kills infection. Use water which has been boiled and cooled and put in a small teaspoon of salt for about a mug sized drink and then gargle - do not swallow. I am not a huge honey fan but if you mix up a warm lemon and honey drink it should be soothing if nothing else. Feel better soon.Vee x
Keep warm, plenty to drink ( non alcholic, sorry ) and get well soon

Thank you so much ladies, I'm feeling lots better in myself, but my throat is still a little rubbish. I think my throat is my weak bit.......mmmm could be the non stop babble, what do you recon. Tomorrow is supposed to be the first of our xmas meals!!! No way, I'll be sucking the juice out of my Linda Mac pretend turkey!! And no wine. I don't even feel like drinking. The worlds gone mad!!!
Gargle with salt, a natural antiseptic, it works every time, and add zinc to the Vitamin C!
