ATC Club Members - change of addresses

Hi folks. QVC was good today, lots of bargins to be had! I've now whipped of the heels (no-one see's them, why do I bother!! And my feet were made for "proper shoes"), and am settled in my jammies - ah the glam of telly!

For those of you in my ATC club I need to let you know about the change of address to send your trades to. I'm sure most of you will know Dawn and the Topaz team have now moved into the design studio, so post should now be redirected there:

Dawn Bibby Design Studio & Store
Market Street Works, Market Street, Church, Accrington.
BB5 0DP

Alternatively, when I was raising the charity money I did set up a PO Box so you can now also send your ATC post there (please only use this for ATC things, not orders or anything for Topaz). This address is:

L Pujol
P O Box 1027
Canterbury
CT1 9GW

Seems abit silly having it there all empty and sad. Lets fill it with lovely letters. The benefit of this will be I can collect the letters a little quicker, and it helps the girls up North who have to sort through all the mail to make sure there arn't any customer orders or letters to Topaz.

Well, I'm off to do some ATC's this evening......hooray.

Chairty

Okay, I know it's my blog, but that doesn't mean I have a clue what I have previously written - and there's no way I can be bothered checking! Did I tell you the grand total of the fund raising for the Prince's Trust? I think I did didn't I. Duh, dunno. Anyhow, we raised £346.69. Tremendous! Hugh thank you to everyone who helped. mmmmmm, the more I write the more this all sounds spookily familiar. Groundhog day....
Ah, but the total the whole event raised, that's the bit I forgot to tell you wasn't it - and I can't remember!! haha. I'll have to look it up..........back (there was a short interlude there whilst I went through my horrendous backlog of emails - yep got to catch up on those as well). Altogether the fund raising made £82,209.22. Pretty good going I recon.

Mmmm, now I've picked up this blogging business again it would seem it's tricky to put down again. Think that's it for the evening, I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

QVC

Of course we have been QVCing. I want to do a quick post to update everyone. Dawn and JJ had a brilliant holiday in South Africa, made me so jealous, it sounded beautiful. Had a great time with Clare after her TSV the other day (mmmm, dunno what day that was, but it was smashing!). I'm on tomorrow as Dawn's doing the trade show in LA - loads of new goodies, jealous again!! Picked up some new beads, which I managed to get my hair trapped in within minutes. It's okay, untangled without losing a strand!

Righto, hows that for a major catch up! Now it's to late to get on with my ATC's, need to break the late night late morning, or there'll be no telly tomorrow will there!

Uni stuff

Uni has been great, okay this new section isn't producing any wonderful inspirational pieces as yet, but we live in hope. We have been having a good giggle, and learning stuff of course. Of course!

The last section was printing and book binding. Loved it. Still have a Bag for Life stuffed with books on making books! Of course I'll get through them all, don't really want to give them back to the library though.

There are so many techniques which are covered in printing which can be combined with card making, workshops here we come! We are planning to do a book of techniques, and obviously bind our own book. My buddy from Uni will be running the workshops with me, Ashley. She is so talented, and comes up with some brilliant idea's. She works mightily quickly though, so if you've ever been to one of Dawn's workshops and thought it was fast, just wait till you meet our Ashley!! I know I've been babbling on about my workshops forever, but we are committed, so it will happen.

Letters to Santa

This is the cover. I downloaded a picture of Santa and printed him onto my cover. The cover was decorated using texturising acrylic mediums mixed with acrylic paint.

When the cover was opened it revealed my paper cutting work. I removed the middle of the pages of the book to give depth, then stuck in the layers of paper cutting. The scene is of Christmas trees, people snowballing, and a snowman. The cottage has a light behind it which gives the glow.

I had a play with embedding a small dictionary in melted wax, but wanted one word to remain. I covered this with acetate so it would be protected, then placed an ice cube over the top whilst I poured in the melted wax. Great fun!

Catch up

Ooooh, I've been a stranger on here for ages! I'm afraid Christmas took the wind out of my sails as far as inspiration for doing anything has been concerned, but I'm getting myself back and starting the big and scary catch up. It's the backlog that makes it harder to face things isn't it. However, once I've got cracking I'm sure it will get easier - especially after I've been able to tick something off my to-do list! Then add another 10 things to it.

Well, where do I start. I think wishing everyone a very belated Happy Christmas and Merry New Year would be the perfect place. Thank you to everyone who was so kind to send me a card, I received so many beautiful hand-made cards it was lovely. Thank you.

Before crimbo of course was our fab holiday to Wales. We got there in the dark, middle of no where, and obviously convinced the sat-nav was lying (who actually trusts those things!). The cottage was so cute, but hell was it cold! The burnt embers of a once toasty fire teased us in the grate - other than that the heating was left in the hands of wall heaters, and they weren't up to the job! We did however, have an elecy blanket - nice one!

Once we had the fire roaring, the cottage heated up a treat. The views were stunning. The dogs loved the open fire, the walks, and the garden. It was fantastic. Perfect weather as well, cold enough to get wrapped up and do some good long walks, but only one rainy day, the rest were clear and crisp. Fab. Definitely recommended. The cottage is called Watch Cottage and is rented through Quality Cottages.

One of the deserted beaches.

A view from a window (well, out the front door actually, pretty damn nice though eh!)

A roaring fire, two cosey happy dogs. Awww.
