Pick of the Day!

Well, after a whirlwind prep, tonight is the launch of our craft POD. There's loads of offers, some real crackers, so I hope you'll be able to join me.

I didn't have bags of time to prep, but what cards I did manage to make I will share on here.

Can I also say thank you to all those who have volunteered to be my guest designer on my web site. I have made my decision and just need to get in touch with the lucky lady and send her loads of stuff to play with! Whoop whoop.

Now, the first card is bright and beautiful and made with my favourite range of papers, graphic 45. I have also used the really handy square dies from spellbinders. I love the simple dies, they have so many uses.

First I cut out my squares. I planned which flowers I wanted to be falling "out" of the square - the large flower that I've allowed to sit in the corner, then the smaller rounder flower. The paper is made up of a repeat pattern meaning I can easily use it for decoupage. Whilst the die was still in place I inked around the edges of the card to emphasise the colours.  Remove the dies and then cut some plain green square.

I matted my squares onto light yellow card to match the colours of the paper, then onto the blue paper from the pad. I cut the matching flowers from my paper and curled them to give them shape. I decoupaged them using pinflair glue.

To finish my card I added a couple of prima paper butterflies, cosmic shimmer pva and glitter glue. Hope you can tune in tonight at 9pm on ideal world :)

Blogging

So, you may have noticed I'm a bit rubbish with this blogging malarky...soz :) however lots of folk have design teams for their blogs and web sites....so I've decided not to have a team, but each month (hopefully...probably build up to that) ill have a "designer spotlight" spot!!

If you are interested please pop a picture of your work either on here, fb or twitter - or give me a link to an album etc you may already have set up, plus a way i can contact you. I know there's lots of amazingly talented folk out there, so I know it'll be hard to pick only one a month - but we'll see how it goes.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen, I can't wait to hear from you :)

Great british craft festival 2013

Thank you to everyone who came along at the weekend and made the show such good fun. I loved doing the workshops with my mate Nigel, and having a really good giggle with Phil, Dawn, Jodie, Craig and the amazing hunkydory team. They did an incredible job and it was a mega success. I also got a free gift!! Love it!!

We did a decopatch workshop and make and take, which I completely love. I'll share a few pics.

Again, brilliant weekend. Massive thanks to the Hunky team for inviting me xxx

Viva Craft Vegas

Well, here I go again, off on my travels!!  Getting a little bit regular isn't it.  This time it's work - and I recon it'll be pretty full on and we'll all come back exhausted.  However, mega exciting - Las Vegas, craft, new stuff!!  It's all good.  Part of the gang went this morning, and the second contingency are travelling tomorrow morning - myself included of course.  I think I've packed as much stuff as I did when I went away for 15 days....we're there for 5.  And you just know I'll have forgotten something obvious.  Always makes me laugh, I'm sure they have shops so why am I taking everything I own.

Anyway, I'll take loads of photo's to share with you.  I really hope I get chance to actually walk the show.  It may be tricky as we are filming 10 hours this time, but I have to see the stalls.  The summer show is smaller than the winter one at least, so I may have a chance of getting round it.

As always, when I go away my poor web site is abandoned, so to make up for leaving my lovely customers and delaying sending out your parcels I will be offering a 10% discount for the week.  All you need to do is enter: VEGAS when prompted as you are checking out.  Of course there is still free P&P on all orders over £10.

Okay, I suppose I'd better get on with my jobs - so much to do before boarding that plane in the morning.

Take care everyone, and see you from Vegas!!

Brill crafty poem

Good morning crafters, how are we on this glorious sunny day.  I hope your enjoying the weather - I love it.  Back in work today, but I have a great day (easy day actually - don't tell the bosses!!).  I've just spent an hour with by buddy showing the new Polka Doodles CD, goes without saying, I love it! I've then got our wonderful Christine with whats left of the 4 day deal.  Then same again this afternoon, Easy peasy and lovely!

Now, I wanted to share a poem a clever viewer sent in, as we didn't have chance to read the email last week, and  it's such a shame cos it's a cracker!

It was the Creata show, but last week we had the lovely Rosella join us, who taught us hints and tips regarding Pergamano.  It was a lovely show, and Rosella's first full hour.  She did so well.  Anyhow, this is the poem from Tina-Maree (thank you):

"At first we were sad when we got to know

our fab Carley wasn't doing the show

but the crafty army are born to survive

we are on-line and watching you live

we are not sad, nor full of woe

we are raring to give parchment a go

be a brave girl and ignore any fears

we're here to watch you and nab your idea's

flowers and butterflies parchment galore,

and you're with a presenter we simply adore.

It's chow for now I must really go

Have to dig out me parchment and do me pergamano"

Tina-Maree

Good isn't it!!

Righto folks, off to get ready for our Christine, see you soon xxx
