Okaydokay, thought I'd pop on a few cards I made for Craft Day, with brief descriptions. Did a few more as well of course, but forgot to take photo's, and then took my camera into studio but didn't really get chance to use the thing! Work and all that jazz.

Had a good day today, great to see all the gang again. Jane and Gill were busy with beautiful cards for the DVD, Rena was busy with everything! Dawn came in and I bet had a late night trying to get everything sorted for tomorrows filming - all go as ever. All this and I'm out tomorrow evening for my Birthday, hooray (Saturdays cards could be funny!! haha, better not celebrate to much eh).

This first one was done using Momentos ink pads, just completely cover gloss card with your ink, blending the ink to lighten the shade. Over stamp with the same ink. The image will bleed a little to give a beautiful background effect. Finished the card with the lovely Woodware Christmas tree stamp.



Another card made using the Momentos, this time using peel off stickers as a mask, apply the ink with a sponge to gloss card covering your peel offs, then remove the stickers to use for another card (never wanting to waste anything eh!!)



For this card I used a few shades of the Momentos ink pads, using the same stamp to overlay the images. This gives depth to the card.



This was my favourite card, using the Design Objectives stamps, Momentos ink pads, and Brilliance ink pads. I used the little tree, stamping a couple of times with one ink, without re-inking so I obtained different shades. I added colour round the edges of the card using a sponge, to blend the colours in, leaving a clear part which I could add my main focal image to (this highlights your main image). I stamped the reindeer, cut it out and added it to my card using 3D foam. Simple matting and layering finished with a ribbon.



Didn't get as much chance to play as I would have liked, but this was my first attempt at using the Tim Holtz crackle paint, and it's FAB. Loved it. For this one I have simply made a background, and overlayed my main focal image. The new distress stickles glue are also tremendous. Want them all...nope, need them all!





Liked this card as well, and easy to do. Using a circle punch, created my background sky, which I inked around the edges and stamped using a snowflake. Stamped my little Christmas village, coloured it and cut it out then matted it over my circle sky. Popped it onto my card which I framed with my ink pads.

QVC cards

Okay, shouldn't be messing about on here as it's abit late and I'll be moaning about being tired tomorrow, but hey I've started so I'll finish. Had a great day today with our Craig - he's fab. I hope Dawn manages to make the most of the rest - and no chatting (Dawn, if you are reading!!). She did say (well, text) she was feeling abit better, so hopefully it won't get as bad as last time.

Anyhow, thought I'd pop on a few photo's from last weeks show. Also if you caught me today and want to look at the cards done with the embossed cards then just scan down to my older posts - I think they are on the 2nd July posting.

The first card has been done using canvas, which was part of a speciality paper kit. This is great for lots of card making techniques, as well as printing on. For this card I have simply stamped on the reverse of the canvas, gives you a lovely texture.



Again in the speciality paper selection, this one was the foil paper (although the same technique can be used on gloss/mirri/metal). Dead easy. Use peel off stickers to create a textured and patterned surface then use alcohol inks to colour the card and the peel offs. Makes a great background.



mmmmm, chocolate colour core card - almost as good as the real thing (chocolate that is). Easy scrapbook pages, ripping, tearing and sewing.





More chocolate, this time used in conjunction with the Slice to cut tags and frames. Scrunch and sand to get fab distressed looks.



I just wanna have a look at seed pages now, I can still sow stuff! How'd have thought! No - put the computer down.

Kew Gardens - and cards

We had a lovely weekend, seems like a while away now! We went to Kew Gardens, it was fantastic weather and the gardens are brilliant - the tree top walk is lovely and feels so peaceful even though it was really busy. Thought I'd pop on a couple of photo's - the one I took of Nicky makes me laugh, he looks rather scary staring through the plants.

I've been working on some new kits that have been delivered, just a couple of sneaky pic's for those as they haven't been on air yet. Still in the process of getting my Newsletters done - I've almost run out of ink again! Haven't even got through half of them yet. Gulp.

Now it's almost Friday again, so anyone wanting to get their challenge from last Friday in then get posting.

I've popped a few cards on Flicr as well, just 3 for the moment - but definately worth having a look at.

About Time!!!

Thought it was indeed about time I caught up with my blog - as usual time flew along without me even noticing - whats that about? Is it an age thing, urgh..... Anyhow since I last posted we have had a Craft Day, which was great. It's funny as we hardly see any other crafters who are in the QVC building on craft days - I didn't get chance to see Rosemary at all, but did manage to say hello to Nigel her lovely husband. It was a mad un! (I don't mean Nigel was a mad un!!).

Anyhow, recovered from that one after a week and started the mad catch up for my ATC club. If I had a tail the end would be well and truely chewed, always chasing it. Oh, to be organised. I have managed to post out quite a few trades, and even sent some of my Christmas cards. Believe it or not I made quite a few Crimbo cards, and then put them in a very safe place - took me days to find them!! I will be sending out more, but moving away from the Christmas theme, as it is a little late I suppose.

I am really looking forward to February, I'm visiting Topaz to see Tim Holtz demonstrate. I love his work so it'll be a great day. I'm also going to be doing some book signing, so hopefully see some friendly faces again (for more details of Tim's demo and my book please have a look on the Topaz web site, see link at the bottom of this page).

Brilliant news, I have found a location for our first meet and greet. I need to go and have a look and see if it will be suitable, but fingers crossed it sounds perfect. It is in Greenwich, which is a fantastic place to visit, so it can be a full day out. I will keep everyone informed, and hopefully will be able to get this off the ground soon.

If you have had a look at my Flickr account have you seen the groups on there for ATC's? There are loads, and alot of people who do one-to-one trades. I have not had time to do any trades, but love looking at all the work - some fantastic idea's, go and have a nosey.

QVC kits

These are just a few images from kits I have been working on recently for QVC (there are a few more on the flickr). I loved the Bo Bunny papers, they are the Tuscany and Paris range and are stunning. I wanted to pop a couple of pieces from the recent Oriental TSV as well, as I was liked the Geisha peel-off, and loved doing the Oriental collage canvas, it really made a change to do something other than cards. I hope you like them.
