Craft Workshops with the lovely Gentleman Crafter .....and LOTS of friends

I can't wait!!  Next weekend we will be travelling to Surrey to do some workshops with the lovely Mr John Bloodworth as part of his craft challenge, where he's raising lots of money for the charity, Mind.  John has been touring the country, educating and inspiring.  I'm very privileged John asked me to join him on one of the weekends.  And we have got a brilliant team to craft along with.

Have a look at the attached link, if you haven't heard about this yet.  I know there are still places available.

It's a brilliant way of giving cash to a very good cause, but also having a laugh and getting crafty:

I hope to see you there xxx

2 days to go everyone!!

Oh wow, the crafty countdown is so close to the end!  So this will be the last challenge for this countdown - lets make it a good one.  All you need to do, if you haven't joined in with my challenge yet, is to leave your suggestion in the comments below.  It can be anything - but you need to give me 3 things to work with.  Any 3 things.  I will then pick someone at random.  Thank you everyone for joining in.

I'll have a little reminise in the meantime.  Wax paper, this was used for helping release die cuts from their dies, but there are so many other uses.  This was a little exploration:

I liked using it with my embossing folders.  Emboss, and then iron onto your card.  Add ink, and look how amazing the results are:

Scrunch your waxed paper, and iron - stunning.  Or use your rubber stamps, again printing the image onto the wax paper, and then transferring it onto the card.

I then used the background I had created, with the brilliant Inkadinkadoo stamping gear system.

Okay folks, set that challenge......

29 days to go - and a completed challenge

Margaret A - thank you, and well done.  My random number selector picked you.  Margaret challenged me to use white on white on white.  I really love this challenge.  I didn't want to use dies, as I know I would end up with a card similar to a Sue Wilson design, as when I think of a card with predominately one colour, I always think of Sue's work.

Instead, I decided to do a little bit of paper cutting.  This will definitely not be as intricate and skilled as Paperpanda, or the like.  I want to get it done this evening, and my craft knife isn't up to much (what kind of crafter am I).

I decided the first white would be the paper.  I went for approx 180gsm.  Not too heavy, but not flimsy either.  I decided, as it will be sent out to Margaret, I wanted to pop it in a frame, so my second white will be the frame.  The last is another piece of card, which this time I embossed.  I did add a little bit of glitter - which should have been white, but actually has a little touch of blue in.  I hope this isn't cheating - but it does look rather nice.

You'll giggle when you see the sketch I did to plan, look at this for detailed:

Yep, that was my incredible plan!  I then drew some sketchy waves, to give me a little guidance as to where I needed to cut

I layered one on top of the other, so each wave was mat and layered

As usual, I like to build up my image in situ, so I can keep an eye on the composition, and tweak where necessary

I cut my little sailing ship, which I was quite happy with actually

I then embossed my background, and started gluing everything in place.  The frame does have an inner frame, which means I would looks about 5mm around the full image.  I did try and trim the cloud so it would fit perfectly within this inner frame, but didn't like the end result.  Instead, I decided to cut the elements to fit the base, and then squashed them in place with the inner frame.  I did use 3D foam to give my waves extra depth

And finanlly, the glitter.  All the glitter.  I feel I may varnish it tomorrow, I'll see what it looks like in the morning.  If you would like to email me your address please Margaret, so I can get your little sailing boat in the post for you.  My email address is: leoniepujol@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you, again, everyone for joining in.  I really love reading your idea's, and even if I don't manage to use them for the challenge, it does give me inspiration for future projects.
